Mindee J. Stekkinger graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. After working several years for various newspapers in Nevada and California, including participation in the start up of USA Today across the country, she attended Pepperdine University School of Law, receiving her Juris Doctor degree in 1990.
After being admitted to the California bar in 1990, Ms. Stekkinger worked for a litigation firm in Ventura where her practice focused on personal injury, construction defect, real estate, and general civil litigation. She then associated with a national law firm specializing in insurance policy enforcement, focusing on coverage litigation and complex real estate and business litigation. Ms. Stekkinger’s current practice involves the defense of health care providers, including physicians and facilities, against claims of elder abuse.
Ms. Stekkinger is admitted to practice before all California state courts and the United States Court of the Central District of California. She is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association and has been a licensed real estate broker in California since 1991. In addition, Ms. Stekkinger has been a Governing Board Member of the Briggs Elementary School District since 1998. She also serves as a member of the Ventura County Committee for School District Organization. She resides in Santa Paula with her husband and three children.
